John Edwards and Rielle Hunter are Engaged?

If reports are to be believed, then ex-North Carolina senator John Edwards has got engaged to his longtime mistress Rielle Hunter.

The Jan. 17 issue of the National Enquirers has said that the Former presidential candidate asked the mother of his lovechild to marry him only three weeks after burying his wife, Elizabeth, who died from cancer.

The couple is said to be tying the knot some time this summer.

“I do know that I love him and that love is till death do us part, and probably beyond,” the Politico quoted Hunter as recently telling GQ magazine.

“We have a child together, so at the very least we will be co-parents together,” Hunter added.

The tabloid first broke the news in 2007 that the two were having an affair and the paper later revealed the lovechild she gave birth to in early 2008 was fathered by Edwards, and not by his former aide Andrew Young, as had been claimed.

Edwards eventually admitted to the affair but still denied fathering Frances Quinn Hunter for close to two years after the girl’s birth. Last year, Edwards finally fessed up that he was the father.
